Ok, so all the media hype tells us that books are . . . well, so last century!
But walking into a bookstore is quite a different experience to searching for books online.
There is something quite different about being in a room filled with 1,000s of brightly coloured and finely crafted books – they contain much more energy than you get sitting at home with your computer.
In a bookshop there is always the hope that a book will jump off the shelf at you and you will discover something totally new that changes your life – and you can get your hands on it straight away.
Also it is to do with the way bookstores are determined to survive in the age of Kindle and iPads – their owners and staff exude a passion for reading and knowledge.
A single-store bookshop, Type Books in Toronto, Canada put this video together to keep the world of books alive – it is great fun. Enjoy.
And visit a bookshop or a library today.
